This is Information On the sagas that appeared in DBZ

Saiyan Saga
This is the beginning saga to Dragonball Z. The first thing we see is goku bringing some wood ( a whole tree ) to his new wife who is at home with their son. GOHAN.
A saiyan named Radditz comes and kidnapps Gohan. And tells his father that if he doesnt kill 100 people gohan will die.
Goku doesnt stand for it however and meets Piccolo who he fought at the end of dragonball.
a short battle happens and piccolo kills goku and raditz.
raditz tells them that in 1 year 2 saiyans will come and destroy the earth. Gohan goes to train with Piccolo and goku trains on KING KAIOS ( KAI) Planet. The saiyans arrive and we have met new characters : Yamcha,Puar,Tien and Chaoutzu. A massive battle begins and Tien,Chaoutzu,Yamcha and Piccolo are all killed by Nappa and his Saibamen.
Goku appears and easily defeats Nappa. he then proceeds to fight vegeta getting a minor victory over him using his Kaioken attack. Vegeta then calls Gokus father useless efore using the attack created by him turning Vegeta into an Ohzrazu.( big monkey). Vegeta crushes goku
and is beaten by his spirit bomb and Gohans Oozrahzu
